Don't get me wrong the gym is brilliant but trying to cancel is a nightmare. Constantly been trying for 3months so now I've just cancelled my direct debit and they say they will be charging me late fee and not giving 30 days notice when I have. Won't be paying either. Shove it up your *rse

If I could have scored 0 I would have. Joined the gym on a rolling monthly subscription. Went on the app to notify cancellation and received an email to say it would be cancelled and no further payments due. Lo and behold they have taken yet another payment. Called the help line on 01444449033 and spoke to someone who advised if I had an email confirmation then they would refund me money and I just had to reply back to the email that they were going to send me...guess what no email sent. Avoid at all costs. I didn't want to cancel my direct debit as I know when they pass onto a debt agency they crank up the prices.

I joined brierlly hill gym a few weeks ago with my son and we love it, there is a member of staff called omari who is so helpful and always is happy to help and talk to you, he has always got a smile and even if he is busy he makes time for a hello,I can’t fault this gym.

I cancelled my membership in October, last payment was taken in November and an email from their customer service team stated I have no more fees due. However, they continued to charge me for the next two months. After bringing this to their attention they refunded me for 1 of 2 payments. I brought this to their attention again and was told it was on its way within 7-10 days. After 3 MONTHS of me emailing them still no luck getting this refund. However... Once I contacted citizens advice and was informed I could take them to the small claims court for the refund, expenses, and hassle caused, I sent their customer service team a formal complaint and told them I will be taking further action and included my evidence of the claim I have. Miraculously, a week later the issue was sorted and I have my second refund. My local trading standards office has been informed of their shady practices and hopefully anyone who is dealing with a similar issue will know you can take them to court, and given you have the evidence, you have a good chance of winning.

Freezing cold no heating through the winter and put the prices up catch ya

Closed my gym during lockdown, transferred my direct debit to JD gyms and didnt tell me. Ive never been to JD gyms and have been charged four time, no one responds to emails and the gym is not even open to call in or ring. I just want my money back, have cancelled my direct debit which they advised not to do on their website, why? so you can keep taking my money while youre closed. Get fuked!

my membership at harlow x4l was £12. a few weeks ago i got a email saying price is going up to 15?. today i get another email saying its now jd gyms and price is going up to 20?. is this some joke?. will you honour the old price i was paying?. or how do i cancel my membership?

I was previously a member, I left because of the poor customer care and seemingly disregard of customer service from staff. I recently took out a membership again, which was cancelled within 24 hours. The branch manager decided to ignore my emails to confirm my request for cancellation had been sent. To date this never came, so my efforts to cancel were escalated via their head office. This just cemented my initial poor experience or staff at that branch.

Keep trying to cancel my membership. Won’t respond to me but are still taking my money. Going to have to go to the bank?

One session on the£5 first month.. it's not for me.. but god help you if you try to cancel.. its impossible-- email after email, text after text.. call after call .. I tried to cancel one week after joining.. This will end up in court!!! They should come with a health warning and they do not respect the law and 14 day distance selling rules..

Nightmare to leave! Suspended membership for 3 months due to Covid / no classes. 33 days before end of membership freeze ends / next direct debit due I fill out form to cancel membership, well within contract 30 day notice period. They now email to confirm next direct debit due Mid December And my membership will finish in 2 months. Not sure how this complies with me having given 30 days notice. Leaves a bad taste. I don’t feel they treat their customers fairly.

I joined gym it says 9.99 a month no contract cancel at anytime I never attended and cancelled my direct debit then got harassed for more payments as told have to give 30 days notice why if cancel at anytime! terrible customer service AVOID

Avoid gym!Cancelled gym membership, had confirmation email saying no more payments would be taken, more payment have taken, no one answers the phone or replies to emails for the last month.

Please avoid this gym at all costs. I have been trying to cancel my membership for months and it is impossible. I am on a monthly rolling contract - I have completed the cancellation form on the app and it states my account is not recognised (they still manage to take monthly payments) I have phoned Harlands who said they were unable to cancel and I had to go to a branch instead. I visited the branch and they stated only Harlands could cancel it. Nobody responds to my emails or tickets. I am tempted to cancel my DD but am afraid I will just get hounded afterwards. Xercise4Less have done nothing to help me. I would rather a attend a more costly gym in the future than a cheap one with such bad customer service - it’s just not worth it.
